LA Climate Tech: Sep 11 - Sep 18
Net Zero events + celebrations of the Pacific Ocean + learn from mycologists! & more
Hi friends,
California is leading the way again! Keep an eye on state legislators this month as the Climate Corporate Accountability Act (SB 253) comes up for a vote. The law would require companies with over $1B in revenue to report Scope 1, 2, and eventually Scope 3 emissions and go beyond the SECās proposed guidelines. Catherine Atkin from Carbon Accountable has a great post on the law and what you can do to help push it through! tl;dr: engage your California assemblymember (as State-level reps, calling actually does make a difference!) and show public support with #SB253
In the meantime, I hope you had a relaxing weekend and are ready to join one of the (14!) events scheduled this week! Here are our picks:
On Monday, attend Exploring the Mycoverse: In Search of Mycotopia (Part II ) with a soulful community gathered at the Arlington Garden and learn how to get involved with fungi. š
The š¼ Net Zero Conference is back for the 10th edition! On Wednesday and Thursday, join world-class education sessions, inspiring keynotes and networking opportunities across industries, with a focus on Carbon, Climate, Equity, ESG, Net Zero and Resilience.

Cheers,

Metabolic Studio is an interdisciplinary art and research hub based in Los Angeles. Directed by artist Lauren Bon, the studio operates with a mission to explore and address critical social and environmental issues through artĀ interventions and innovative projects aimed at reparation.
