Climate Career Week kicks off today with an online programming! This Tuesday evening, attend the in-person 🍸 Climate Career Week LA Mixer in Silver Lake.
On Thursday, in celebration of Women's History Month, LACI's Women in Cleantech is partnering with Women of Arc (electrifying the marine industry) to host an evening symposium dedicated to empowering women in tech: 🌞 Women Shaping Cleantech: Past, Present, Future.
Also on Thursday, join Otis College Environmental Design and Anna Heringer, 💭 2024 Donghia Designer-in-Residence, for a special lecture and reception: “The vision behind, and motivation for my work is to explore and use architecture as a medium to strengthen cultural and individual confidence, to support local economies, and to foster the ecological balance.”

Join Otis College Environmental Design and Anna Heringer, Donghia Designer-in-Residence, for a special lecture and reception. Anna Heringer is an architect and honorary professor of the UNESCO Chair of Earthen Architecture, Building Cultures, and Sustainable Development. Her focus is on the use of natural building materials. Her work has been widely published and exhibited at MoMA New York, the V&A Museum in London, and the Venice Biennale, among other places. In 2013, with Andres Lepik and Hubert Klumpner, she initiated the Laufenmanifesto, where practitioners and academics from around the world contributed to define guidelines for a humane design culture.

Join us at the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District for a fun, hands-on class on how to collect, press and preserve native plant specimens for long-term preservation in an herbarium setting. Participants will: get to collect and press their own flowering plant sample, practice mounting previously collected plant material. learn the basics of plant identification, and how to label specimens.

Our workshops will teach you how to turn kitchen scraps and yard trimmings into a nutrient-rich soil amendment. Home composting is taught by a team of ten rotating LA Sanitation & Environment green waste specialists.
