🎥 Common Ground Film Screening and Panel Discussion
When: Tue, Mar 12th starts at 7:00 PM
Where: Aero Theatre, 1328 Montana Ave Santa Monica, CA 90403
Big Picture Ranch and Area 23a present Common Ground - a hopeful and uplifting story of the pioneers of the “Regenerative Movement” who produce tremendous quantities of nutritionally dense food and are working to balance the climate – all while bringing our entire ecosystem back to life. The film explores how Americans from different walks of life, different political backgrounds, and different parts of the country share one thing in common –the very soil beneath their feet. The film investigates the power of “regenerative” farming systems –from large to small-scale farmers who are the champions of soil health as the key to unlocking more (and healthier) food to feed America and the world. A panel discussion with experts will follow the film. The panel will be moderated by Sarah Spitz, UC Master Gardener, Los Angeles County.
🏗️ Clean Concrete Roundtable
When: Wed, Mar 12th from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM
Where: La Kretz Innovation Campus, 525 South Hewitt Street Los Angeles, CA 90013
Join us for our "Clean Concrete Roundtable" as we dig into policy and the procurement process for concrete and cement in our region! While these materials have helped us shape our world, they account for ~7% of global emissions and more action is needed today to reduce those impacts. In this roundtable, we will explore the potential of incorporating low-carbon concrete into local supply chains. Come be a part of the conversation as innovative startups showcase their clean concrete solutions, engaging in a dynamic dialogue with established large local companies. Hosted by USGBC-LA, this is a hybrid event.
