From the comfort of your home, join the 🏠 Home Electrification Webinar presented by the City of Santa Monica and QuitCarbon on Monday (today!) to learn about all things related to building electrification – including electric appliances (e.g. heat pump water heaters and inductions cooktops), electricity cost impacts, what to ask your contractor, and incentives to help fund these projects.
This Wednesday, on Juneteeth National Independence Day, join the Santa Monica Black Empowerment Association (SMBEA) and meet the community for 🚲 Pedal for Progress Bike-a-Thon and Resource Fair, a scenic bike ride through Santa Monica, featuring a tour of historic Black landmarks. 💰 LA Climate Fund Awards $500,000 to Local Climate Initiatives
CIV:LAB’s climate grant-making network announced seven unrestricted grants ranging from $10k to $100k to LA-based climate organizations! The fund, using a place-based, participatory grant-making model, aims to support organizations and initiatives in climate technology, workforce development, and education in Los Angeles County. Simon Sylvester-Chaudhuri, CIV:LAB Executive Director notes “In LA County we had over 110 applications asking for more than $9M of funding showing the breadth of climate projects and programs across the County in need of more unrestricted and quick support.” The 2024 LA Climate Fund grantees are: Clockshop, Community Services Unlimited, Greener Way Associates, Proyecto Pastoral, SmartAirLA, Strategic Actions for a Just Economy (SAJE) and UNITE-LA.

Join Jason Wise on an easy, 2 mile round trip, 250ft elevation change exploration of our local ecosystems through the lens of queer ecology -the study of everything in nature that subverts western cultural expectations about how the world *should* work. The natural world does not subscribe to any particular human culture, it just exists as a beautifully diverse tapestry of ways to survive and thrive--individualistic or communal; patriarchal or matriarchal; heterosexual, homosexual, or in the case of most flowers, bisexual. We will observe, share, and learn about nature in ways that reflect our own diversity, and then connect to it on a whole new beautiful level.
🚲 Pedal for Progress Bike-a-Thon and Resource Fair

Join the Santa Monica Black Empowerment Association (SMBEA) for Pedal for Progress, a scenic bike ride through Santa Monica, featuring a tour of historic Black landmarks. 🚰 Pure Water Antelope Valley Demonstration Facility Groundbreaking

Join leaders from Palmdale Water District, Capture6, California Natural Resources Agency, Southern California Water Coalition and more to celebrate the groundbreaking of the Pure Water Antelope Valley (AV) Demonstration Facility. The facility will demonstrate how PWD will utilize proven water purification technology to clean recycled water to produce safe, high-quality drinking water.

Organized by the Association of Energy Engineers SoCal. The event is an exclusive tour of Toyota’s largest cutting edge Tri-Gen facility. The facility is powered by biogas from landfills around California.
