Join Friends of the LA River’s free, open-air environmental arts and community festival celebrating the culture, history, and people that shape the LA River. Invite your favorite people and immerse yourself in the stories of the River and its neighboring communities through different art mediums as we learn about the life stream of Los Angeles – the LA River.

💚 EcoXpo: Inspiring Sustainable Living for a Greener Future

🍂 Community Composting Hub
When: Wed, August 7th from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM
Where: Echo Park, Los Angeles, CA 90026
In partnership with California Climate Action Corps, a program of California Volunteers (Office of the Governor), L.A. Works is on a mission to amplify the environmental justice initiatives of its partners in supporting the communities most impacted by climate change. During the event, the group will mix and mulch food waste from community members and local businesses with yard waste to create compost.
🌊 WSL One Ocean Local Impact Project - US Open of Surfing
When: Wed, August 7th to Friday, August 9th, 10:00 AM onwards

This year, for the US Open of Surfing, WSL One Ocean is teaming up with global sustainability partners Shiseido, Yeti, and Lexus on beach cleanups and restoration projects with local partners WILDCOAST, Surfrider, Orange County Coastkeeper, Sustainable Ocean and Alliance. Their collaborative efforts aim to tackle plastic pollution, restore vital coastal ecosystems, and promote environmental awareness. Join them as they bring together surfers, community partners, and ocean advocates for a series of impactful activities that demonstrate the power of community in protecting our cherished coastlines.
