👟 High Impact Tea with Former Chief Sustainability Officer, Nike

In his role as Chief Sustainability Officer, Noel successfully drove the acceleration of Nike’s materials innovation strategy to align with sustainability ambitions and positioned the company as a leader in the corporate sustainability space through active government, NGO, academic, and media engagement. He built the organization from 75 to 300+ people at its peak and integrated sustainability leadership, processes, and programs into major functions across the organization. He also served as the external spokesperson for Nike’s leadership in sustainability with media, government, and non-governmental stakeholders. Throughout his career, Noel has acted as a change architect, from growing Nike’s sustainability programs and positioning the company as a leader on a global stage, to transforming Nike’s labor and environmental operations footprint, impacting 550 contract factories across 42 countries, and over 1 million workers, to turning around Nike’s Vietnam operations and stabilizing the 50% production campus during a period of tremendous political and government unrest.

Here at The Beach, we recognize Earth Day by holding an annual celebration that fosters connections, educates, and promotes environmental awareness: the Green Generation Showcase. This lively event that has been going strong for more than a decade brings together students, faculty, staff, and the Long Beach community sustainability leaders for a fun evening of mingling, music, and snacks at the beautiful Earl B. Miller Japanese Garden. 🚀 Easton Innovation Challenge: Live Pitches in Sustainability

The Easton Center Innovation Challenge is a great example of the spirit of collective effort which is essential to success, exemplifying an invaluable partnership between the Anderson school and the greater UCLA campus, our many students, faculty and alumni who are committed to innovation and advancements in healthcare and sustainability. This initiative brings together UCLA students from all disciplines and backgrounds to create new ventures that can drive a positive change in society. As part of UCLA’s commitment to addressing the climate crisis and creating a more equitable and livable world for all Angelenos and beyond, the UCLA Anderson School of Management and the UCLA Sustainable LA Grand Challenge are partnering to invite applications to UCLA’s Innovation Challenge for technological solutions (digital or otherwise) to the world’s most pressing sustainability challenges.
