On Wednesday, celebrate one year of community building in Los Angeles with 🎉 Women in Climate Investing and Finance (WICIF LA Chapter)!
In celebration of Earth Day, the USC Wrigley Institute for Environment and Sustainability and the USC Dornsife Center for the Political Future is hosting 🌿 Climate Forward 2024 on Thursday, a conversation on finding practical solutions to climate change and identifying the political obstacles to implementing those changes.
On Saturday, make your way over to 🛶 Open House: The First Boat at AltaSea at the Port of Los Angeles. The Ti’at Society will unveil “Moomat Ahiko,” the first boat, in a ceremonial event with members of the Ti’at Society sharing the significance of the boat’s name in the Tongva language.

This Wednesday, celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Women in Climate Investing and Finance LA Chapter! The purpose of WICIF is simple: provide a space for women to authentically connect, build community, and support and empower each other within climate investing and finance. With the increased focus on ESG, climate tech / clean tech, decarbonization, and other related themes, WICIF host quarterly get-togethers around the globe to expand our networks and learn from each other.
Join this half-day conference as we celebrate the women who are phenomenal change-makers in Los Angeles. Featuring Ariel Fan, CEO of GreenWealth Energy, as keynote speaker and an incredible lineup of early-stage founders to discuss their motivations for starting their businesses, challenges of fundraising, and how to encourage more women to become entrepreneurs, as well as investors to share their experience deploying capital through different asset classes. In celebration of Earth Day, the USC Wrigley Institute for Environment and Sustainability and the USC Dornsife Center for the Political Future are hosting a series of conversations around advancing climate change issues. This year's conference is entitled “Climate Forward 2024: Climate at the Crossroads,” and will explore policy from the past that informs the climate policy of the future and we will discuss what happens after the election as the country heads towards 2024 and beyond.

The Ti’at Society will unveil “Moomat Ahiko,” the first boat, at AltaSea, in a ceremonial event with members of the Ti’at Society sharing the significance of the boat’s name in the Tongva language. Members of the Ti’at Society will share stories in person of Moomat Ahiko and cultural traditions related to seafaring and ocean stewardship. An exhibit of images and videos will show the life and birth of Moomat Ahiko. A facilitated discussion will allow participants to reflect on: the connections between climate change, urban development, and Indigenous cultures. Participants will learn about ways to support Indigenous communities in preserving their maritime traditions. And more.
