LA Fires: Resources & Building Resilience
🔥 The University of California is sponsoring a six-part webinar series for the UC community and the public titled “Urban Wildfire Response and Recovery Webinar Series,” focusing on the physical health, mental health and social impacts of wildfires, providing a blend of scientific information and practical skills, and highlighting environmental justice issues. 🌊 All of us who enjoy and benefit from the oceans, coasts, and Great Lakes can play an important role in defending NOAA. You can contact your congressional representatives and urge them to protect NOAA and its programs that are critical to our coastal economies and communities.

🍵 Herb Walk: Medicinal Plants of California
When: Saturday, March 8 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am
Where: California Botanic Garden1500 N College Avenue, Claremont CA 91711
Join herbalist William Broen for an interactive garden walk and talk focusing on medicinal and edible plants native to California. Participants will learn traditional and modern uses of approximately 15-25 species. William will also talk about the strategies plants use to survive in the wild, how these survival and defense strategies can impact people, how plant communities interact, and the benefits of growing native plants. The class will take the form of a moderately easy 2-hour loop walk, covering 0.5 - 1 mile distance.
