LA Climate Tech Cities: Jan 27 - Feb 3
Climate resources, community meetups, compost hubs - and more!
Hi friends,
As we navigate the challenges of rebuilding after the fire and adapting to changes in our administration, the climate space has also evolved—dramatically, we might add. It can feel overwhelming to keep track of these shifts and their impacts, but it’s truly inspiring to witness the climate community come together to support one another and advocate for meaningful action.
In the spirit of staying informed, check out Ayana Elizabeth Johnson's insightful post breaking down climate-related actions from President Trump's Day 1 in office. Also, don’t miss Nicole Kelner’s captivating artwork highlighting the Paris Agreement—it’s a powerful visual reminder of what’s at stake.
Here are our top event picks this week to help you stay connected:
On Tuesday, reflect on anything climate-related in an informal small group at the ☕ Climate Café.
On Thursday, talk shop on climate tech at the 🍻 Climate Circuit Casual Meetup.
On Saturday, volunteer at the 🍂 Compost Hub Support - Cottonwood Urban Farm to gain hands-on experience in creating nutrient-rich compost from food scraps.
As always, scroll down for the full list of upcoming events.
With gratitude,
Maëlys, Niqat, Raiven & The Climate Tech Cities Team

This Week’s Event in Details
☕ Climate Café
When: Tuesday, January 28th from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
Where: Sustainabowl, 8338 Lincoln Boulevard Los Angeles, CA 90045
Welcome to our free in-person Climate Café events at Sustainabowl on Lincoln Blvd.! If you experience worry, anger, fear, sadness, powerlessness and hope about climate change, you are not alone! Data suggest that most of us feel alone in these emotions, yet the majority of people are concerned about climate change. Talking about these feelings in groups can help. A Climate Café is an opportunity to connect in an informal, supportive, small group to express our emotions about climate change, without pressure or judgment. This is not an action-oriented gathering nor a therapy group, but a safe space to talk and feel in community, rather than in isolation.
💧 Talking Water
When: Thursday, January 30th from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM
Where: Online
We welcome Konda Mason to Talking Water. Konda Mason is a social entrepreneur, eco-spiritual thought leader, and justice advocate working at the intersection of social and financial justice and planetary healing. She is passionate about reversing the harm the extractive economy has had on all living systems. She foresees a world that is environmentally regenerative, spiritually fulfilling, socially just, and economically equitable.
